Why should you forsake one for the other?
Why should anyone expect you to?
Why can you not embrace the new,
yet hold dear the old?
Why should you feel the need to assimilate,
rather than integrate?
Hold fast to the culture you were raised in
if you are proud of it, but also be willing to
accommodate the culture you're living in.
Be proud of your roots if they deserve to be.
