Bad Dream
She walks down a simple garden bearing flowers
Red rose petals drop behind her bare feet with every step
Golden brown hair, catches a drift from the breeze
She is wearing a purple gown, the color of royalty
I wait patiently for my beautiful queen to join me
Her white smile peeks from the her soft tender lips
As she calmly whispers my name like an enchanted spell
The suns golden rays are beating down on her pale complexion
As I turn my head a black cloud has come into plain sight
The earth beneath us begins to rumble as it breaks us apart
Thrusting my hand out to save her from this imminent peril
I see she is laughing from under her raven hair and ruby lips
Concerning whether I have become mad I ask why she laughs
She just shakes her head and walks away as though it was planned
Falling deeper and deeper to the caverns of a bottomless pit
The screams that no one hears, muffled by her constant laughter
I finally land on solid ground, my body jumps out of my bed
Wake up choking on my tear stained pillows, it was just a nightmare
She won’t even let me sleep anymore, the constant hauntings
My heart races, the adrenaline kicked in. Another sleepless night
Grab a bottle of sleeping pills. Let’s try this again. Two hours later
Another one of your fucking nightmares, creeping into my mind
I guess I can’t kill your ghost, even the liquor can’t drown you out
Spent my time thinking being together was a dream that came true
But as reality would have it, you were just a really bad dream.
