GLIMPSE OF A WEEKEND AWAY
(Arose when thinking of poetic captions to the picture accompanying runningturtle87's poem "Glimpse", setting it in a larger scene. Shorter captions can be seen in the comments I attached to the original poem.)
Fair naked body, legs curled upon the floor,
B(e)aring fetching tattoos – what man could want more?
What a way to invite him into her core,
And to feast himself on the taste of l’amour
In the arms of the woman he does adore?
True love consummation, not a laddish “score”,
While, outside, a sea tide sounds on the sea shore,
To transcend all the love they have known before.
For, she is his wedded wife, no pick-up or whore:
He is a soldier, back from a battle tour.
Keen to spend this weekend making love not war,
A love long stored up that he wants to outpour
Upon she to whom he’s sworn love evermore,
Who returns his passion with a like ardour
From her faithfully kept love-lust treasure store.
For themselves it’s a time that this couple claw,
Far away from neighbours and parents-in-law.
First night he performed with hearty “encore”,
Until the couple could stay awake no more.
“Do Not Disturb” card hangs outside on the door.
