BATTERED TINA
The other day I looked on a beat up friend
And do you know what she told me… “He won’t do it again”
And to my surprise… I looked in her eyes
And her love for him came shining through
When a moment ago…I had heard her cries
And wondered what more… the monster could do
Now I tried to mind my business… but she got me started
I mean she was a 10… and was acting retarded
Like self-esteem… was a thing of the past
And being a doormat… was a love that would last
And as she pondered on their future… and how they would make it
He pondered on her neck… and how he could break it
And each time he tried it… she would run back
Like she was a dope fiend… and he was the crack
And crack is what he did… upside her head
So many times… she could have been dead
But thanks to O.J…. the police don’t play
And one day they caught him… and locked him away
He stayed overnight…then posted bail
And came back stalking… giving her hell
Well she instantly fell… back for his charms
And took him in… with open arms
And though there was… a restraining order
And his temper… had gotten shorter
She could only focus on being his wife…
………………………………….
Well he beat her again… is on his way to the pen
And she is so hurt… it’s bad for her health
And me as her friend… just can’t understand
Why she refuses… to love HERSELF!
And do you know what she told me… “He won’t do it again”
And to my surprise… I looked in her eyes
And her love for him came shining through
When a moment ago…I had heard her cries
