Image for the poem Date night

Date night

Saturday night is date night
Nails polished, brows shaped
Dress, stockings and high heels
Ready for her date

Smiles for hubby
Kisses in the air
Saturday night date night
Look at this happy pair

Saturday night she dreams
Of her lover and stolen kisses
He drowns himself in whiskey
He knows who she misses

Yet every Saturday night
They carry out this charade
Hand in hand
He calls her hun
She calls him babe

When they get home
He falls asleep
The whisky knocked him out
She ponders then
In her chair
‘’what’s it all about’’

On her knee her lap top sits
Her fingers tap away
On the screen he appears
Ready for their play

Saturday night is date night
For this lusting pair
Her husband non the wiser
Snoring in his chair
