Heels

Hear my heels, click clack on the tiles walking down towards the underground
Sounds displaced and warped by headphones
Alcohol and caffeine running through my veins
Life has become a dream state, people pretending to be somewhere else
Earphones in, books and newspapers pretending to be read to hide them
All I can think is why is I alone, again, riding this dream
Whispers tell me it is my fate; I am destined to travel this way

Polka-dot socks and smart suits are plenty
Man plays with the hem on his shorts, is he trying to flash me!
I’m dark and I’m twisted, I’m nice and I’m gentle
Contradictions take over me I want to be made love to but I want to be beaten
I don’t deserve either; I know you want to just fuck me!
I slink of towards the escalator and hide my shame
Out into the dark scary night where demons await me
