The Dark Sky

I am the obscurity dancing across the dark sky,
As the people passed by.
Asleep the children went,
Crying in their beds.
As the people went into the light outside,
Sadness took flight.
The smell of pungency took the air,
Still as a statue since I’m still here.
These thoughts were darkness,
As they spread around so quick.
These thoughts were rolling around,
As the clouds fell down.
For many people, grief tore them apart,
And felt like chunks of their bodies torn out.
“Sniff, sniff” went the town,
As the people fell down.
As the sun was gone and late,
The town felt that they were bait.
Again and again they weren’t praised,
The guards, the traitors, nobody raised.
Defunct and demised the town went,
As the winds of darkness blew.
When happiness and joy came again,
The people finally slept restfully in their dens.
