Paper Hearts and Spilled Ink #2
He comes home smiling
His faith beguiling
But when he closes his bedroom door
He lies there crying
and burning once more
They sit together
and thank the lord
The words spinning around his head
He begs they would hang him from a cord
He's so alone, he'd rather be dead
He knows he's not perfect
But should he eat?
He wants to fit in
He wants to connect
He'll starve tonight
His enemies have one
once again they're shining bright
They push and they shove
Then one gets carried away..
A few days after
The boy doesn't come home
Forever he lies on the floor of the janitor's closet
Bleeding to the bone.
His faith beguiling
But when he closes his bedroom door
He lies there crying
and burning once more
They sit together
and thank the lord
The words spinning around his head
He begs they would hang him from a cord
He's so alone, he'd rather be dead
He knows he's not perfect
But should he eat?
He wants to fit in
He wants to connect
He'll starve tonight
His enemies have one
once again they're shining bright
They push and they shove
Then one gets carried away..
A few days after
The boy doesn't come home
Forever he lies on the floor of the janitor's closet
Bleeding to the bone.
