Goodbye Childhood
Suffocating on the sands of time
Reflections of the past fade in the glass
The hands on the clock come to a close
I have no more time to live this life fully
Constricted by the confines of work and school
I have never tasted the fruits of living
The faces of old friends become a blur
I have let the light burn out on my childhood
Grown up to fast, letting my innocence bleed out
All those memories I could have made
And those things I had a chance to say and never did
I told myself “no you need to focus on your future”
Now I’ve grown up and the regret begins
All my success means shit when you have no one
Constantly asking myself, was it all worth it?
Those endless nights of studying and working over time
So I can barely make ends meet and live in solitude
I guess this is growing up, and I must adapt
So I say farewell childhood, I left you to waste
RIP
