Saturday nights.
Saturday night joined me
And we laughed and shared stories
Of childhood memories repressed
And stories of loved ones
We had to leave behind
And Saturday night stayed with me
Until I slept and then
Left with no word
While Sunday morning slid
Under my sheets
And woke me with
The sun's warmth on my cheek
And it's light flooding my eyes
It's nice to wake up
In any embrace, but
Sunday mornings
Don't know me as well
As Saturday nights
And we laughed and shared stories
Of childhood memories repressed
And stories of loved ones
We had to leave behind
And Saturday night stayed with me
Until I slept and then
Left with no word
While Sunday morning slid
Under my sheets
And woke me with
The sun's warmth on my cheek
And it's light flooding my eyes
It's nice to wake up
In any embrace, but
Sunday mornings
Don't know me as well
As Saturday nights
