To Spring
Out of the cold womb of winter
nature is reborn. Light and dark
are equal for one day.
Our frozen bodies are warmed
by the deadly rays of the sun.
You have given us life
and our bodies shall one day
be given back to you.
Blood to nourish the dead
ground.
But now we shall rejoice
for a day like this death
seems far away.
But do not be fooled, Oh bard!
Death is the companion
of life.
Drink therefore a toast to life,
to the sky, to nature and to
the little birds in their nests!
Drink and enjoy the time
that is!
