LOVE LIKE A TATTOO
She wore their love like a tattoo
In or out of other folks’ view;
An acquisition not pain-free
But enhanced sense of her beauty.
It was close to her as her skin,
Giving her her mischievous grin,
Coming across like Mona Lisa,
A sign something special pleased her.
When stood before the mirror, bare
And alone, it was still there.
It was a source of shared delight
And laughter on a dating night.
It came out more in summertime
When the temperatures would climb
And more of her skin was let bare;
If others saw, well, did she care?
In or out of other folks’ view;
An acquisition not pain-free
But enhanced sense of her beauty.
It was close to her as her skin,
Giving her her mischievous grin,
Coming across like Mona Lisa,
A sign something special pleased her.
When stood before the mirror, bare
And alone, it was still there.
It was a source of shared delight
And laughter on a dating night.
It came out more in summertime
When the temperatures would climb
And more of her skin was let bare;
If others saw, well, did she care?
