Star
The stars that used to sparkle
Deep in my eyes,
Fissure and die
In this dark dank prison
You hold me in.
The very essence of me
Oozes out of every cut and scar
You cause.
You cut too deep,
You scratch too hard
And push too far.
I block out all the pain
And forget each bruise,
Because I realize
I'm better than this,
I deserve so much more.
So ust keep sharpening that blade,
For the one thing you think
You are taking,
You are actually giving to me.
I don't need you anymore
I am now on par.
Though your blade slices my skin
And my life grows dim,
I don't care anymore.
Because now
I'm a great big
Beautiful
Star.
Deep in my eyes,
Fissure and die
In this dark dank prison
You hold me in.
The very essence of me
Oozes out of every cut and scar
You cause.
You cut too deep,
You scratch too hard
And push too far.
I block out all the pain
And forget each bruise,
Because I realize
I'm better than this,
I deserve so much more.
So ust keep sharpening that blade,
For the one thing you think
You are taking,
You are actually giving to me.
I don't need you anymore
I am now on par.
Though your blade slices my skin
And my life grows dim,
I don't care anymore.
Because now
I'm a great big
Beautiful
Star.
