ouroboros
the last stage of seperation
is when alone wraps impossible
back around itself
where you kiss me
crumbled
I know you
in the shared glance
that smelts together
every atom
of the individual
I love you
in that won surrender
is when alone wraps impossible
back around itself
where you kiss me
crumbled
I know you
in the shared glance
that smelts together
every atom
of the individual
I love you
in that won surrender

I love "smelts" even the placement of it. It is the spark that ignites this atom of a poem.
Ok LB... I gotta ask :)
What have you been reading lately ?

Nice, yeah i dig the word smelt too...glad that it works for ya, cause i was a bit concerned it seems forced. I like the word and feel that it makes sense, but i was stuck for a little bit deciding if it was the perfect word...perfect enouh for now, and im happy you pointed towards "atom", because i think that helps qualify the choice.
Ha, and the reading thing? Im curious why you're curious.
Embarrassingly, i must admit i haven't picked up a thing in at least two months, and the last thing i did read.was H.Hesse "the glass bead game"
Thank you Maggie

Because LB my fine man, one of the biggest inspirations found for a writer is what he reads. This varies slightly from some of your other works, so.... ;)
Thinking of it as connecting the dots, and
Shame on you ! lol READ !
It is good for you ( she says in her best Mama voice ) :)

I have no idea what your title means and I'm not gonna be the smart googledick either.
This is definitely where you work best, in this sticky haze of love and company. Always like your original thinking, this time, it's the wrapping thing in the first stanza that got me hooked straight in.

Thanks Mr.A
Glad you think i can exist in this type of place. I am a sucker for romance, but i like what i can get into if the romance is ambiguous, and can brush up to what i consider almost devotional writing. i can dig a bit deeper for myself, if i personify certain kinds of experience.
Oh, and the Ouroboros, is the image of a snake/serpent in a circle biting its own tail, so im also glad the "wrapping back unto itself" caught ya, cause it is the major concept or image i was drawing from

Being the fan of mythology that I am it was your title that attracted me and I'm glad it did. I love the way you use your cadence here especially in the third stanza. Brilliant little fall-down. And the symbolic wrap around ending. Good stuff my man. Keep it coming!

Hey there pierre!
I too am a fan of mythology, glad i could rope you in with that, and offer a little something while you were here.
Thanks my man, for reading n commenting

I don't really know what to say about this write. I read it a few days back and while I enjoy this piece greatly, I don't have anything constructive to offer, every time I read it, this poem leaves me a little speechless. So this is me taking the long way round simply to type "I like it".

Totally my favorite mythical creature.
I love the way you would the passage around itself, but this wins:
ouroboros
the last stage of seperation
is when alone wraps impossible
back around itself
The title and the first three lines are so clean, so perfectly aligned, that I keep forgetting to comment on the rest.
Good stuff, LB.
