The Fish that got away.
The Fish that got away.
You always hear the story about the one that got away.
He was all of this or all of that is what they have to say.
Never realizing what they had that day.
Always after the one that got away.
Some day you might say I was that fish that got away.
Caught up in your net, you pull me in, you held me close.
Eyes wide open you looked right through.
Happy as can be, a smile from tree to tree.
Happy to have me, you jumped up and down.
Could this be the one I will keep around?
Life could never ever get better.
This is true love we have found.
You pulled the string and removed the hook, why, you let me shook.
Contemplating why, what is the matter, I am yours that’s all that matters.
I am listening but she is silent, telepathically telling, I am going to die.
Pleading, I make my wish to read her mind, I watch her lips, could she be tongue-tied?
Wounded from the hook, she pulled from my heart, lying there ripped apart.
She threw me back for the sharks to attract its true.
Bleeding, I will miss you.
