Continent of the damned
The sky over Africa spells death
As the king awaits in the distance
The gazelle smell trouble approaching
Quick run, but no escape for a baby
That dies in the jaw of an enemy.
A sunset mourns over Africa
Children are fodder for warlords
Flies and jackals are everywhere
Where is God,
Where is thy God?
Hear O Africa
The red earth dust
And the bones of
Your ancestors lay suffering
For the new and the young.
The savannah waits
As the snake slips away,
Scorpion stings the meerkat
And meerkat stops the snake,
So much suffering.
Where is God for the continent,
The continent of the damned.
As the king awaits in the distance
The gazelle smell trouble approaching
Quick run, but no escape for a baby
That dies in the jaw of an enemy.
A sunset mourns over Africa
Children are fodder for warlords
Flies and jackals are everywhere
Where is God,
Where is thy God?
Hear O Africa
The red earth dust
And the bones of
Your ancestors lay suffering
For the new and the young.
The savannah waits
As the snake slips away,
Scorpion stings the meerkat
And meerkat stops the snake,
So much suffering.
Where is God for the continent,
The continent of the damned.
