No Shadows at the Bottom
They dance around me.
Look at them, all of them.
Projecting away from me like spokes, spiraling ever so slightly more and more out of control.
Each of them represent something.
Latent aspects of myself that I'm too scared to explore.
Dark horizons in the distance beckon me from this lightless world.
And into what? More shadows?
The shadow spokes break free and take shape, converging on me, grabbing me, dragging me into the distance.
I can't struggle, they've bound me.
We reach the horizon and no longer is there ground, only a large pit.
An endless abyss that streches as far as I can see, which isn't very far in this darkness.
I am thrown.
The exiliration of the fall, believing that there is no bottom, overwhelm my senses.
The shadows swirl around me, enticing me, exciting me.
Laughter, all around.
Coming from my own lips.
I'm happy, I'm going to hell and I know it, but who cares?
I'm happy.
I'm down here and I don't want to come back out.
It's still dark. There's still no light.
But damn it feels good.
