You and I
I'm starting to love you in
all the wrong ways, somehow
it feels too right.
I wonder if you do what I do,
thinking about you late and in
the middle of the night.
It's hard to imagine we've become
so close in just a short amount of
time.
So close to each other that I
wonder what it'd feel like to have
your hand in mine.
The world is swaying under my feet,
going to and fro.
I don't want to have to reap the fruit
of all these seeds that I've sown.
It's hard to face, it's the truth,
but I wish I didn't have to face it
with a brave face.
It's a hard reality to swallow, leaving
a bitter taste.
You and I were born to never be as one.
But at least I can stand beside you and
smile, making sure you always have some
fun.
