(From The Rah Thought collection )   Knowing Brokeness

This was inspired by a song from Lianne Lahavas' Lost & Found

Last night...
I heard a song on the radio...
it moved something deep within me...
with each word...this woman sang
her pain rang out...over the waves
of air in the night....

It silenced me...
to tears...
pouring down my face

"You broke me ...
and taught me...
how to  tru...ly
hate myself"

She sang...
and I knew...
she felt every word she said..
As waves of truth spilled over me
sitting in my car...
in the dark
Unspoken...reality
came and settled in
Cause its like that when
You love someone...
and you suffer for it

Unfold me..and teach me..
how to be..
How to be myself

Come upstairs where I
Hide...
I hide all my demons safe
from you

I sat and knew this feeling...
I knew this brokeness like
I knew each line on my face
where some of loves pains
can never be erased

and...
She kept on singing...
I never heard a thing so pure
she wasnt trying to hide
Her soul....layed bare
just as mine was
as I listened...
To what it sounds like
when a soul
has been
Broken.

You broke me..
and taught me
How to truly
hate myself
For loving you...
and no body else

My soul..
knows this song
too well
so well.
as I look...
at who
I have become
because of loving someone else
when I should
have been
loving myself.
