I often wonder...
I often wonder ....
Had I remembered that a lie is just too hard to remember
Had I not put the first drink to my lips
Had I finished school
Had I not had that first baby so young
Had I remembered that sex isn't love
Had I learned to control my demons
Had I kept my promise and loved her till the oceans cover every
mountain high
Had I kept in touch with friends made over the years
Had I remembered that work is a means to an end; nothing more
Had I not bared my soul would she have stayed with me
Had I not paid attention, would I still be alive
Had I not been so afraid and started my life over sooner
I wouldn't be the man I am today
I often wonder but I would change very little
Had I remembered that a lie is just too hard to remember
Had I not put the first drink to my lips
Had I finished school
Had I not had that first baby so young
Had I remembered that sex isn't love
Had I learned to control my demons
Had I kept my promise and loved her till the oceans cover every
mountain high
Had I kept in touch with friends made over the years
Had I remembered that work is a means to an end; nothing more
Had I not bared my soul would she have stayed with me
Had I not paid attention, would I still be alive
Had I not been so afraid and started my life over sooner
I wouldn't be the man I am today
I often wonder but I would change very little
