Our Favourite Song
We are each others favourite song
Playing on repeat when the others are done
We both know the routine
Let's drop the pretence of shame
We've filled each others box of lies
In love with the mystery of our past
Lose yourself in the familiar song we make, wrap your legs around my waist and ride your rhythm into me
Stare into my eyes so I can't keep you at bay as you gently kiss my lips
Then slowly lift your head and present me with the softest neck
Just like you always do
Stay with me a while outside your door
Tell me as I laugh and hug you tighter than I will for a while
What we both have missed
We both know who will be there
That this won't be the last time
When we next meet
The only difference between us will be
The lingering of a kiss on a cheek
But what a difference that will make
And when we next start to feel the void
We will both know who will be there
That this won't be the last time
Expect it as if we are each others morning sun
Playing on repeat when the others are done
We both know the routine
Let's drop the pretence of shame
We've filled each others box of lies
In love with the mystery of our past
Lose yourself in the familiar song we make, wrap your legs around my waist and ride your rhythm into me
Stare into my eyes so I can't keep you at bay as you gently kiss my lips
Then slowly lift your head and present me with the softest neck
Just like you always do
Stay with me a while outside your door
Tell me as I laugh and hug you tighter than I will for a while
What we both have missed
We both know who will be there
That this won't be the last time
When we next meet
The only difference between us will be
The lingering of a kiss on a cheek
But what a difference that will make
And when we next start to feel the void
We will both know who will be there
That this won't be the last time
Expect it as if we are each others morning sun
