The ant and the elephant
Come with me to the fire dance
Where the hot earth beckons the dragon
And the cool earth lays suppressed
Even the chickens are overheated
Seeking shelter from the sun god
Let the cool breeze enter the garden
So we can sleep
Come with me to the garden of hibiscus
Beneath the coconut palm
The sun shining through the green leaf
The ant is carrying its load
Across the quiet grass
Looking for relief,
For the rain is coming to cool the valley
Soon the river will be full again
Making the waterfall flow
Come with me to the land beneath
Where the wild boar is grunting
And the elephant slow
Between the wild grass and the trees
There is shade for your make believe
And rest for your weary body
So you can sleep in the afternoon sun
With the ant and the elephant
