Christmas Joy

Smell of cookies in the air
Joyful all around
Children ran up and down stairs
Happiness abound
They will not sleep no not tonight
For soon the hope to hear
The magic of Santa's red sleigh
And all of his reindeer

All curled up but wide awake
The restlessness so high
Heads and eyes to window turned
Now peering at the sky
Waiting for dawn to go and see
The milk
And cookies gone
And rush out to the yard and see
If presents on the law

They'll jump for joy and shout with glee
As Santa did appear
While mom and dad just smile down
For secrets they did hear
The joy of Christmas in a child
A feeling that's unmatched
Where is it that the joy does go
The moment it is snatched

For every person boy and girl
Definitely should feel
And never lose the special joy
For hard it is to heal
So listen close on Christmas Eve
For hear it you just might
Those famous words "Merry Christmas to all
And to a wonderful night!"
