Unspoken Sadness
Upon this unspoken sadness
where tears just never appear
and pain is deeply buried and hidden
there is a girl with a frozen smile
she carries it with her everywhere
holding in the pain
in front of people she wears a mask
to hide the pain
so no one is is able to see
she feels lonely even when others are around
her heart is breaking
uninteresting
not good enough
unwanted
did you know?
she cries herself to sleep at night
She has a few imperfections
but no one is perfect
everyone has flaws
if she told you how she was feeling will you listen?
When she sees you all she feels is sadness
She puts the mask back on to protect herself
she does not want to be drawn in again
you never asked how she feels
you only thought of yourself and your needs
what about someone else for a change?
Is it even worth it?
To explain her pain to others
another day with the mask
she wondering if all tomorrow’s
are going to be the same
unspoken sadness and the hidden tears
where tears just never appear
and pain is deeply buried and hidden
there is a girl with a frozen smile
she carries it with her everywhere
holding in the pain
in front of people she wears a mask
to hide the pain
so no one is is able to see
she feels lonely even when others are around
her heart is breaking
