The desperation in the desert sands

the days adopted a swelter
i could scarce imagine in my home
i saw a maiden as i hallucinated
this beauty once mine
i love her with every ounce of my being
but twas not enough to save her

can the world be so cruel
that once she was dead i see her again
among these sandy dunes
impaled by the glass spires which
reach like cruel fingers to the sky
no armor could save her
nothing could prize me of my pain

the sight of this crippled love
from another age sent my heart reeling
sent my world spinning
i vomit bile and drift to a restless sleep

in that dream....
i saw the demon from the jagged cavern
crushing her in his vile grip
as she screams in pain
a chorus for me to see and save her from this
monolith's grasp
as i screamed for her her eyes were locked with his
she didn't look back
she didn't acknowledge the screams which rend my
chords to bloody remnants
in my throat

urgency and fear contesting for domination
in my heart
to catch the words before they leave my throat
or let them fly to fall upon deaf ears
her auburn hair...
those burning lips...

seconds left though they pass like hours
my screams lay upon deaf ears
a terror like no other i have ever felt
grips my soul

til my voice is no more i cry my plea for her to hear
clutching jagged bars
fingers dripping blood
then she simply melts into a pool of
tar as the demon averts his gaze to mine own eyes....
