Poison

Speak, and poison drips
Red and ghastly from her lips,
Insane and lost in past failures
Wanting to appear wise and mature
But ending up stupid and hurt,
But worst of all the poison has hit the target,
Her eyes they see the pain she’s caused,
And tears fill their depths
As she wishes she had not spoke,
Had not come, had not tried
She is as poisonous as a snake
And so she slithers off to hide
Where she can do no harm
With her poisonous words
And her bitter charm
