Poet Introduction
I use poetry to be heard... which is strange as a lot of it sits unread on a shelf. But I write them to express my thoughts and feelings and maybe my imagination to an extent.

Trapped
I am not a robot, not a number, not an employee on a page,
I am authentic to myself and despite all your programming
I will never change
In a world where money rules,
and those that have none are fools,
a world of addiction to comsumer goods
where you only win if you own the new iphone
I exist
sucked into shopping,
lost in needing shiny new things
almost lost to the taste of rich foods
I still breath
waiting and watching and despising my weak state of mind
desiring much more than some 5 minute fad
wanting to...

MISCELLANEOUS POEM

Frozen
Lost in a crowd
falling through the cracks
wishing I could drip and slip away
but I'm frozen here
surrounded by cheer
that cannot melt my ice cold heart
I wish I could find you
I wish I could go back when
we were together
and the world seemed
less frightening
cause you were here
to hold me close
but you've gone
and the moments passed
never to return again
and so I'm stuck here
alone and lost
without you
frozen
falling through the cracks
wishing I could drip and slip away
but I'm frozen here
surrounded by cheer
that cannot melt my ice cold heart
I wish I could find you
I wish I could go back when
we were together
and the world seemed
less frightening
cause you were here
to hold me close
but you've gone
and the moments passed

and so I'm stuck here

Life's program
Start program
Public Sub (the news)
watch the news
buy into their views
cheer at the champions
feel sad when appropriate
feel guilt at the end
put hand in pocket
donate to charity
guilt no more
Public Sub (the adverts)
Laugh at the ads
but seek the new brands
imagine that item in your hands
and buy
because your nothing without it
and with it you'll feel better
because...
the advert said

who seem close to you
in status...

DARK POEM

Safe in my bed
The world goes on
outside the doors
but I'm in no hurry
to join the thralls
I'm in hiding
the bedcovers keep me warm
and the door keeps me safe
there is no reason to leave
no one to try for
only me
but outside the world goes on
without me
people rushing to andthroe
working hard
playing hard with lovers and friends
but I'm safe here
in hiding
No social games to play
no one to impress
no one to second guess
I don't feel stupid
here
alone in my bed
outside its...

Empty night
Black and listless
The Stars have gone
And the moon has faded
The sun is out of sight
Nothing exists
Empty barren
Alone
Ice drips down
But you can’t hear a sound
The drums are hollowed out
No one visits
There is no one there
Tired, so tired
Of breathing
here
I wait in vain
The silence screeching by
Slow so slow
And how I long to die
To end my torment
To end my solitude
time drips red
thick drops slithering
across my skin
the only thing that touches me
life drifting away
...

He’s sleeping around
Shes buying another round
As her friend tries her hand at glamour
Its just another day
Just another way
Modern life
Shes chasing a dream
hes gonna be a star
but first they have to change everything they are
too short too fat too funny looking
the operations booked
its just another day

He’s sniffing coke
Shes buying the world
Searching for the same thing

One in a billion - a day in the life
One in a billion, a face in the crowd
The person who smiles and fools around
Rushing from one place to another
She works hard
And she seems to have it all
The life the soul
At work she shines
She glitters and speaks happy words
But then she leaves it all behind
And she’s alone
The smile disappears
As a sigh breaks free
The uniform is removed as straight into her lonely bed she slides
The thoughts run through her
All the things she could have done
The things she did wrong
She doesn’t belong
She rolls onto her side...

Me
Some days I am funny,
I can spin you a line
make you have a wonderful time,
I can tell a joke
I can sing a tune
Just sit still
I'll entertain you.
Some days you find me serious
lost in theories,
in the question of life
I'll start a discussion
and we'll discuss it all night
you'll quickly find out,
I'm awfully bright
then there are times I am tired
lost in the depths
isolated in myself
and I'll seem so far away
locked in my gloom
fighting to see the light
Somedays I need to love
I need to feel...
I can spin you a line
make you have a wonderful time,
I can tell a joke

I'll entertain you.

Who needs love
Who needs a lover
when you have good friends like mine,
friends who are there for me
come rain or shine
they'd never abandon me
never curse my name
I know where I am with them
there is no game
Who needs to sleep with someone
when your happy to sleep alone,
no one snoring in your ear
or taking away the covers
no one to leave you aching
wondering if that was it,
Alone you know you'llacheive it
Who needs a boyfriend
on the phone all the time
asking where you are
what your doing
who your seeing
your life is...
when you have good friends like mine,

The Barista Poem
Hello,
good morning
the sun shines bright
hello good evening,
hope your days been fine
can I help you,
can I pour a filter
or would you like my friend
to handcraft a late,
or maybe a cappucino
and might I just introduce you
to our lovely frappucino
(perfect for the summer sir)
Cause I'm your friendly barista
I always wear a smile,
its all part of the uniform,
I go that extra mile,
now can I offer you a syrup
or some lovely whipped cream
if you have a card sir
the extras are all free
your looking...

How Does it Feel
How does it feel
when you throw your words
like knives towards my frame
how does it feel
when the blood starts to flow
and I fall towards the floor
Do you feel a rush of warmth
Do you take another go
How does it feel
Does it feel good to make me cry
do you rush and take another try
Is it all a game
well you've won
your names on the trophy
your number one
and I lie here, the loser
lost on the floor
drowning in your laughter
how does it feel
