Woke up too early
so lay right back down
closed my eyes
but soon started to frown
I can't sleep
and I really ought to
don't you hate
insomnia

Laying awake
when everyone is sleeping
is really awful
awfully boring
the tv is krap
the internet's creepy
I really should sleep
but insomnia...

insomnia,
can't you just leave me
haunt someone else
just for a moment
leave it out
I just want to drift
and close my eyes
and find my own paradise

but insomnia
you haunt my nights
and I'm slowly losing
the will to fight
won't you leave me
all alone
before I do something stupid
insomnia
