Misery loves company
Sometimes when I'm to tired to stand I read poetry
the words of others displayed on the screen mean something
so many poems put together with thought and pain
it gives me a sense of belonging
yes I've fought a battle half my life
but I'm not alone
I'm never alone
when I'm reading the words of another broken soul
sure it hurts me all over again
and I've swallowed many tears for them and myself
but I've connected with strangers
more then my friends
most poets know
they have been down my road
and some on dead ends
yet they still have the strength to write
commendable yes
but It also gives truth to the fact that
misery really does love company

The neighborhood is getting crowded, but my mud puddle always seems to have just enough dirt and tears to keep it slippery and sloppy... JJ
