Lucy K.
Little Lucy K. cried on the day,
Her mommy packed her bags and just went away.
Didn’t say goodbye or even cry,
Lucy felt the world around wither and die.
Now she was stuck with a father that struck,
And She cried cause she knew there was no worse luck.
She’d go to school and lie for the fool,
Cause she thought deep down He was not cruel.
He’d pull her hair and throw her down the stairs,
But He’d always let her know Daddy cares.
He’d say that he loved her, he was sure,
And he did what he did to build character.
She believed what he said, went to bed,
And woke up to his hate instead.
She tried and she tried to run and hide,
And when Daddy found her she’d get lost inside.
Go to her place where she saw Mommy’s face,
In her mind, in her sorrow, in her own cold embrace.
But she wouldn’t tell, was under his spell,
She would just tell the teacher she fell.
Little Lucy K. was a dull shade of gray,
She was here. She was gone. So far, far away.
She died many times but went off in her mind,
For when she was there some solace she’d find.
But "Daddy does care" although she was scared,
And how come God cant hear her prayers?!
He hits her and yells louder than the church bells,
What sins did she do to find hell?!
She’s just a young girl lost inside this world,
But she’s beaten. She’s bruised and She’s curled.
She just wants to feel a Love that is real,
Not this pain that she just wants to kill.
“Why cant he see what his hands do to me,
Can he hear when I cry? When I beg? When I plea?
I just want the pain and the hurt to refrain,
Cause I know Daddy cares, He’s just so afraid.”
That’s what It read, when Lucy K. was found dead,
In the notebook she kept by her bed.
She was tragically found in the closet and bound,
And her daddy was nowhere around.
I cry on this day for Lucy K.
All that she wanted was someone to say:
“I love you, Lucy K.
more than the sun shines in May,
And I know You’ll be a princess one day!
Whenever you‘re scared I will ALWAYS be there,
To take all those bad things away.”
