Atheism Anarchism and Activism

I'm fighting pessimism in a world
where everything is designed to take strife out of life
yet even with our teeth four shades whiter,
phones ten times faster,
the world at our fingertips,
and a global audience
(to even the most pathetic thoughts
that leech out at four a.m.
while you stumble through ex's photographs
on facebook)
we can't bring ourselves to reach a state
where it is enough;
where we are enough;
where what we have is all we need.
We are spirtually thirsty
and at the mercy of screens
for companionship.
We consume and consume
but have lost our grip
on what it takes to be content-
the truth of the matter
is we will continue to descend
if we percieve our physical appearance
is more valuable than experience.
So put down your visa.
Take a good hard look
at the world you are missing
as long as you are hooked
to a habit of instant
gratification
and allow yourself
FULL
participation
in the mysterious
glorious
wondrous
mystical
now
