I am not made of marble
you can chisel into your image
I am not made of plaster
you can pour into your mold
I am not made of polished glass
in which you can see your reflection
I don't walk like you
nor do I talk like you
I don't wear the same clothes as you
I don't eat what you eat
I don't believe in what you belive in
I don't work the same as you work
I am Me
Stop forcing me
into being you
LEAVE ME ALONE!!!

I like the rhythm in the first part of your poem as much as i like the message through out the poem. :)

See, now this is how you win an argument. Beautiful in the explanation (first six lines - love it!) and solid with conviction (the summation). Don't know how I missed this one (had to subscribe so it won't happen again).
Thank you for subscribing. I hope you enjoy the others I've written. I wrote this a while ago when my mother still thought she could control my life. It gave me the courage to tell her so. Now it's more of a social FU. I won't be part of the status quo. Thank you for reading.
