The Guillotine

I've lost my mind,
I can't remember where I left it
She turns me to stone
She tastes so septic
I can feel her watching me
I always let her down
A stereo sunset
struggles with this decaying town
Leafless trees with the world on their shoulders
Sag like an elderly womens breasts
She appears from the mirk
Like a scandalous feline with anarchy on her chest
The wind cuts through me
Like a rusty guillotine
My veins like a motorway junction
Turn to green
The grand bell of sorrow
Echoes from the hills
Visions of my past
watch from vacant Window sills
Time seems motionless
As the ground tries to swallow me whole
Memories like vultures
slowly eat away at my soul
With a sinister smile
Her silhouette disappears into the night
Salvation like graffiti
Reflects in the piercing moonlight
Rain rolls down my face
Like tears from above
and one night stands from the hotel windows
Scream out forbidden love
Whiskey stained memories
and nicotine fears
Haunt me in my dreams
and torture me for years
My eyes red raw
Like a sirloin steak
My body haggard and beaten
As I begin to shake
In a field full of envy
I sleep with a gun
With a mouth full of acid
Hidden under my tongue
A solitary scarecrow
Gently speaks to me
As I pull the trigger
and wait for the guillotine
