Grand Opus: The End of Shadows 0009

Chapter Two:  The Effective Route or Not

D. On Honesty and Reciprocity

No God will love you more
for your doing or thinking good.
To think so would create folly
and only fosters a vain attempt
at self-righteousness.

There remains no fairness
in the world of human beings.

Do not look for reciprocity,
though never cease attempting
to provide this needed element
to every relationship you enter.

You may think to yourself
that you should have the right
to expect certain things like
respect, honor, trust, or loyalty.

All such expectations and thoughts
of entitlement balance out
as cruel jokes we play on ourselves
to help us learn to live in the present.

The poor expect assistance, and
the rich expect access to use
at their whim on the promise
that they will share, against having.

You cannot do good, and
you cannot identify as a bad person.

What can happen has illustration
in the concept of the beach.
It has its place, for a time,
and during the storm it disappears.

In this moment, we can express
contentedness and joy, and if this
lot you draw, then the art of your day
will hang in the museum of the heart.

Let go of expectations, My Shadow,
and see the sunlight in the distance.

Pamper the First Breath each day,
