WHAT STILL REMAINS

My scars will fade in their own sweet time, but they will without a doubt remain.
Yes, these scars shall remain until my flesh is no longer. These scars will still remain on earth long after I am gone.
Today, these scars remind me that damage has indeed been my reality, as I have already labeled myself before everyone else as being damaged goods.
I have been living to reach the day when I could stand back and prove to everyone else that I could….
And now I am living in the day that I can
I can hurt myself without anyone else’s knowing, oh yes I can kill myself without ever showing that the heart of sadness beats inside of me.
That I may be able to run away but I could never fully leave, and that regardless to however long that I may have held my breath at any point, all along I already knew that I would eventually have to breathe.
These scars are the one thing that have remained the same even through every change that I ever did make, and through every chance that I ever did take, these scars may be the only part of myself that ever made any since at all.
These scars have so much more meaning then just the rugged aftermath of a deep wound or cut, they mean that I can take too much yet not enough at the exact same time and still refuse to give any at all.
It is possible to be conciouse but still so naive that regardless to your square-root of your observance, you can still get so much out of anything but still not hear a word because so many answers remain dormant because you never thought to ask, because searching for the honest answer just wouldn’t do you a bit of good unless you first open your eyes.
Who do you really figure is going to believe your one word of honesty when up until now you have spoken nothing more than lies?
These scars remind me that the decisions I make today will not only detect who I am going to be tomorrow, but that the decisions I made yesterday are what will conclude who it is that i will become wholly.
