Loves Eternal Light

Nothingness, this black timeless void.
Nothing, but emptiness and quiet.
No shadows live in eternal night;
Conquering all, no sound or sight.

Yet beyond, His glory broods,
Loving planning as only He could.
Setting in motion with unfathomable might
The triumphant glare of resplendent light.

A place of beauty, mystery, chance;
The seeds of knowledge in our hands.
The first temptation now in sight;
Come. Let’s know what’s wrong and right.

Many years of corruption and sinning
Have washed away the time for living.
Torrential rains for many nights;
The majestic mountains fade from sight.

The presence of God soiled and tarnished,
No man or beast just ultimate carnage.
Brilliant hues the envy of darkness
Lifts and falls; salvation imparted.

A leap of faith, leaving Haran,
Many nights and days through treacherous land.
Westward bound for many miles
With faith in God and the promise of child.

The oppressive ruled without fear.
Abject poverty and slavery for many, many years.
This slow-burning hatred now reaching its peak
With instructions from God, but a reluctance to speak.

Seemingly impossible but we cannot abort
This destiny carved for all to record.
A deserted nation, its people enslaved,
But by exodus from bondage His people are saved.

Persecutions and martyrs speed the demise
Of blasphemy and evil and worship of idols.
Our patriarchal forefathers completed their tasks;
The impact on mankind forever will last.

The time is ripe for the world it seems
For Immaculate Conception and visions through dreams,
To mould the world like never before
With a tiny child so innocent and pure.

So loving, so caring, beyond reproach,
Preaching and healing on the Galilean Coast.
Praying to God about His life preordained,
Knowing Golgotha by His blood will be stained.

Temptation from evil but He could not be lured
Away from His Father whom He loved and adored.
Betrayed with a kiss; His path begins;
Agonizing torture in exchange for our sins.

Death comes slowly His life’s blood pours.
His family and friends can hear His last words.
They cry and pray in the dirt at His feet.
Every star in the sky for their Son gently weeps.

The shackles of death cannot bind.
They have not lost whom they left behind.
The tomb is empty, the stone rolled away.
He sits on the right hand of His Father today.

His blood in the earth, the seeds of salvation,
Blooms faith in His glory; yet for some, deviation.
Faith can move mountains if we’d only believe,
Yet some trample with doubt the fruit from this seed.

Loves eternal light, undaunted by forever,
Illuminated our world- a blissful beating ember-
Forever shall love be the whole of Gods will...
...and mankind stumbles over it still.
