when you wonder whose out there that cares,
worrying if you lay dying who will be there,
tell yourself it will be fine,
but don't bottle it up for too much time,
don't listen to your friends as they whine about life,
because they don't know what its like to live with trouble and strife.

I drag the knife,
blade to my wrist,
A slit here and another there,
I wont be missed.

I lay unconscious on my bedroom floor,
you sit in the room next door,
not knowing the truth,
because i didn't want to talk to you and locked my door.

If i think back you have never seen,
never felt what it was like to have been me,
never been at the beach in the summer,
instead watching me drown in a sea of my own tears,
living the same old nightmare,
for all these years.

Crying myself to sleep,
sitting in the dark,
looking in the mirror as I weep.

The girl I see is trapped,
she doesn't know who she is,
she doesn't know who to be,
she doesn't think anyone cares,
she will lay dying and no-one will be there,
this girl is me,
no-one else can see,
they think my life is perfect,
they think I'm happy.

The mirror I look in,
shatters to a million pieces,
another sharp object to slit my wrist,
because the truth is I wont be missed.

An embracing hug,
show me some love,
because the way I feel my grave will be plain,
the absence of a dove.

This is the power of love,
it can drive you insane,
wishing you would love me and everyone the same,
but to you I am nobody just a name.

Sometimes I wonder what it would be like if you loved me,
I wonder if it would change what I see,
