Too Bad It Had To End This Way
How can love be best described
On my chest your name is inscribed
Your picture placed right above the steering wheel
So I can see you even when I drive
I send you poems
I write you letters filled with beautiful words
I tell you sweet things
But its all blown to the wind
Be it obsession,be it optimism
No man can take your Isms and Schisms
Yet here I am
Hoping your heart will be softened towards me, still...
In the end
You find love in my friend
Caught in the shock
My amazement I can't contain
On my own I do the comparison
I try to see where and why you think he's better than me
I can't really tell
But deep down my feeling's equal to hell
I want to let go
It's easier said than done
The spirit's willing
But the body's numb
I cry alone in my room
All day drinking hard liquor and feeling gloom
There's something rising in me I don't like
And it coldly suggest doom
My will grow weak
For days I can't eat
There's none with whom to speak
The air goes thick
My brain's dark and cloudy
Why didn't you just allow me?
You rather prefer another man
And a close friend at that
I think its malicious
I see a calculated attempt
Not only to frustrate my heart desire
But also to ruin me
What a way to reciprocate
Where did I go wrong?
The fury in me precipitates
The love grows strong
I must do nothing to hurt you
But I must prove I love you
Maybe in the event of my demise
To you I'll finally get through
But first....
I have a script to write
A sad story so true
The dire events of my love life
My tragic encounter with you
I trace you to your love garden
Find you and your new found love
Totally lost in each other's embrace
I weep a little,take a deep breathe and pause
I imagine myself in his shoes
Another tear drop
This is what I've always begged of you
Now I'm giving it all up
I draw closer
Closer and closer
Till your passion's interrupted by my presence
Then I stop and stare sheepishly at you
Eyes teary
Completely weary
I begin to mumble something
Even me can't hear me
Slowly I bring out the paper
I stretch it out to you
On my other hand
A steel so sharp and new
I watch the both of you shudder
I smile and then grimace
I look at you and say "I love you"
Then the frown grips my face
I run the steel through my throat
The sky goes dark
Memories long forgotten
Flashes through my eyes
Life flows out of me,no sound
Only a sharp pain as I touch the ground
I don't feel a thing again
I transcend the realm of pain
On my chest your name is inscribed
Your picture placed right above the steering wheel
So I can see you even when I drive
