Dance
like a promiscuous dervish
scuba-diving in booze
hand Rumi a drink
let him live the love he sings about
stab frenzied outward
opening every radius
inspired beyond violence
accept that there is no god
and that he is laughing at you
laugh back
any god worth having
has a pussy
write her poetry
babble ecstatic until vowel sounds have rhythm
excite the body enough to bypass obstructive consciousness
repeat the mantra of "the observer deters malleability"
remember to forget
be between breaths
marry the contradictory
refuse hallucination without clarity
obliterate the division of spheres
the leap itself avoids the abyss
let the anthropologist sterilize experience
the philosopher quantify
the scientist dissect
and for the artist
run amok intangible air
leaving shadows with foot prints
so the next of kin
know where we went

nice.
i've always liked the results of auto writes. the rhythm seems so natural when you really get rollin.
have you ever read any of the surrealist poets from the 20s and 30s? those guys really get it goin.

I am familiar with the surrealistls of that era but admit to not being too Indepth.
More familiar with auto drawing(A.Osman Spare for example).

These lines remind me of a Cormac McCarthy quote: "There is no God and we are his prophets". At times this poem feels more like a string of images than a narrative, and is none the worse for that. It's a weird and effective climb down into the human subconscious which occasionally manages profundity. Thanks for the read.

I agree that this a list of images. Ill scratch these out as almost a shopping list,or brainstorm, and would normally never present it as a piece. This one seemed to work for me in enough ways to leave it

it never fails to entertain me that people try so goddamn hard to form *perfect* poetry when there are people like you who can throw this out and evoke more emotion in the reader than anything that's meticulously slaved over and edited.

Bloody fucking brilliant! That was the first thought I had when I finished reading. I can't even point out what piece(s) grabbed me the most because it's as much the collection of the thoughts and the form in which they are presented as the individual thoughts themselves that make this so damn good. Love love LOVE this.
