she was so pretty in her
cozy dark brown coffin
as she requested..
so full of serenity that
it made me jealous
i wanted to be with her..
i wanted to be like her..
in her cold arms i wanted to be held
in that very moment i would swear
i'd be her ghostly double
her very own doppelganger..

A dark and moving poem of grief, Opheliac. The image of you holding your dearly departed chilled and warmed my heart at the same time. Not an easy feat.

the jealousy is a strong turn. loved it. now i'm going to have to look up the word "doppelganger". that's the mark of a good poem. it makes me want to look up the words i don't know. thanks for sharing...
