Too Bright to See, Too Dark to Be
Stay close my friend
You are my light
But if you linger
It grows too bright
I'll lose myself
I'll lose all sight
I'll fade away
In an endless white
I don't want to disappear
Your comfort increases my fright
I'll draw you in close
Only to suddenly take flight
Afraid of the dark
In a whole new way
All by myself
The dreams begin to play
Hidden in my recessed mind
Shadows come to draw me away
Lose my grip and take the leap
Fade to black in fantasy
Don't want to be found, don't want to be seen
Cutoff from reality
Shut away in a sealed room
In darkness I see vividly
Too bright to see
Too dark to be
Can't sustain my identity
Can't tell you which side is really me
You are my light
But if you linger
It grows too bright
I'll lose myself
I'll lose all sight
I'll fade away
In an endless white
I don't want to disappear
Your comfort increases my fright
I'll draw you in close
Only to suddenly take flight
Afraid of the dark
In a whole new way
All by myself
The dreams begin to play
Hidden in my recessed mind
Shadows come to draw me away
Lose my grip and take the leap
Fade to black in fantasy
Don't want to be found, don't want to be seen
Cutoff from reality
Shut away in a sealed room
In darkness I see vividly
Too bright to see
Too dark to be
Can't sustain my identity
Can't tell you which side is really me
