In my heart you had a safe place

If you had been true
in my heart you would have found
the safest place for you.

Oblivious of your presence
you came, lavished me with your grace
sharing your essence.

Now where have you gone,
why have our dreams been set a drift
our moorings undone?

My heart is leery, I believe in none,
battle weary, every ray of hope,
just another reflection of the sun.

Is there no one
who is honest enough to speak
without a forked tongue?

Without true honesty
you are just another lothario
playing games callously.
