In my heart you had a safe place
If you had been true
in my heart you would have found
the safest place for you.
Oblivious of your presence
you came, lavished me with your grace
sharing your essence.
Now where have you gone,
why have our dreams been set a drift
our moorings undone?
My heart is leery, I believe in none,
battle weary, every ray of hope,
just another reflection of the sun.
Is there no one
who is honest enough to speak
without a forked tongue?
Without true honesty
you are just another lothario
playing games callously.

Yes they can, and for that I say "leave me the hell alone" If you come baring false hope and lies, go away.

You and I share something in common my friend, a hurt that does not want to heal, all be it at opposite ends of the spectrum.

I feel you Gypsy, in every word. Pain of the heart can be so heavy and leaves one extra cautious.
A beautiful poignant pen.

What is it about this life that often thwarts two from being together. Sometimes that is a good thing as it takes time and a LOT of honest sharing to truly know another soul. Another stirring piece!

Your comment Ken is absolutely true but it must always begin with honesty so it can get off on the right foot. When you begin with a good foundation the rest of the trials you may encounter might be more manageable. Thanks for reading
