My Battle

There we were in the craziest battle we have ever seen
This fighting went on for hours
For every one down 16 more came it seems
Cover me while I reload
I got you covered
Switching positions for better cover.
Back and forth bullets fly over head
Calling out target
Target center another one dead
I move to get a better sight
My battle moved to my previous position
The voices that was once there are no more
At that moment my life changed drastically
The Medic worked and work But my Battle was gone
No work harder he's gone In disbelief asking was he sure.
In a dazed stare Looking at his lifeless face.
You were suppose to be here for me mad at hell
You won't suppose to die in this place
Standing in a rage
Letting bullets fly M4 rainning shells as the barrel
sounds like thunder.
As I reload something hits me
Slicing through my torso like a hot knife to butter
I drop to a knee
Where was my Battle when he was needed
I lost my best friend
You were suppose to be here for me
You were gonna be my best man
What am I going to tell your kids?
How can I fix this?
Were did we go wrong?
Your moms going to be devestated
How do I tell her that her baby is gone
I miss you Battle
I wonder are you still watching over
I know there has been some close call
But you had to be looking over my shoulder

......If I could go back and do this again
I would of moved left instead of right.
Because today, Today you would still be in this fight
Keep me close battle! I love you man!
And I swear he looks just like you
He is still his daddy's biggest fan
