in the shadows

ilently I cried
in this room without shadows
A relentless fail
in this river of a thousand tears
A lacking power, oh I tried
             why does everyone disagree?

Woke up stunned
left in a chemical daze
A choice, undefined, made
with a gaze of stone you praise
A reality lived in denial
            defined by all of this pain

A despair written
upon the blank pages of the mind
In time the memories fade
but the salt still burns the wound

Stepping outside this body
viewing visions only the blind can see

A reality of the heartless truth
as heart and soul is bared for all to see
With the fading of time

A long winding journey comes to an end
A failing demon
left in the shadows of yesterday.
