The deep

Deep darksong of the ocean  
calls the mind to murky abyss  
unknown as yet uncharted  
by human those that stand  
on solid ground  
should the deep be explored  
fully charted by human hands  
should the ocean floor be found  
could it maybe disappoint?  
 
murky depth and dark greyness  
a world of nothingness  
or maybe it would be wondrous  
with bubbly mermaids in a row  
with charming mermen  
out a-courting  
with sea-flowers on their hands  
thrones that shine like coral stones  
 
pearly floors and mother of pearls  
of kings and queens  
and enchanted kingdoms  
the ocean….
yet fantasy calls to mind
the dreams of then
the visions in sleep
where creatures of the sea
 
play with joy so carefree
can we be as them
you and me..?
