Let Downs
Go ahead get your spirits up
All the way to the sky
Let them soar so far up
You feel as if you can fly
Then give them a rock
And let them drop
All the way to the ground
THAT is what you’ve done to me
Not just once, but four times
And always “It’s my parents’ faults” is your plea
If only I had a nickel for every time I heard that line
Every time it never fails
Something mysteriously happens
And “our” plans are blown all to hell
It’s the worst bad luck one could fathom
But its starting to get old
And my “cute” little seams are starting to unfold
I’m contemplating dumping you
You deserve someone better, it’s true
Someone that lives closer
Not thirty minutes away
So that you can hold her
Every single day
Don’t want to talk to you right now
Don’t feel like thinking anyhow
Maybe if I force you to miss me for a while
It’ll give me a reason to smile…
All the way to the sky
Let them soar so far up
You feel as if you can fly
Then give them a rock
And let them drop
All the way to the ground
