great stuff here. you know yourself the short ones can hold their own and more.
This one holds a lot and is teasing the reader to delve into the words and find everything it has to offer.
"Now things just seem to slip away under my feet."
is a great little ending.

It seems to me (and I have been wrong often and am reading into your excellent poem) that you are actually talking about more than "words." When you say: "Now things just seem to slip under my feet," "things" cover more than "words." They cover whatever existential situation you are faced with currently. I see much "trickery" in the poem, which is refreshing and wonderful. Thank you.

the shorter the poem, the more meaningful it needs to be. you accomplished this :)
