I am
I wonder what its like to live
I hear the darkness beckoning me
I see nothing but the endless darkness
I want to have my soul back
I am alone
I pretend I'm alive
I feel like I am brushing against reality
I touch the cool watery darkness as it slips through my fingers
I worry about how i'm going to last here
I cry for my lost soul
I am alone
I understand I will never be alive again
I say I can't ever find my soul
I dream one day i can find peace
I try to seek for my rest
I hope for a way out
I am alone

Many has been the time in my own life when I felt the exact way that you describe so eloquently in your darkly beautiful poem. Lonely, striving for life and trying to live it to my very utmost... despite old fears, and losses that were hard to bear. I too thought my soul was lost and strove to find it again... and find it I did in the end. Though the way can be dark sometimes, it is never hopeless! Even in the darkness, there is light.
