Breathing On Mars
Everyday
a lie.
You were everything,
I was nothing.
I would breathe for you and
no
one
else.
Your refusal of my sorrows,
my desperate attempts
to deliver my pain to you,
all for nothing.
I found the needle in my haystack,
but I couldn't see you.
I breathed in air on Martian soil,
but words failed me for you.
I found a cure of all diseases,
but you said you didn't care.
I caught a leaf during tornadoes,
but you slipped through my fingers.
I'm a fragile glass window,
I don't need you to break me.
I can break myself.
In fact,
I just might do that.
