First-born Girl

I pass a word to my first born
a light in the sky
to shine upon the lost souls in the night
and I cry because you'll never get to fly
heard you died before birth
now picture hearing this news as a father
it hurts
but I'll remain optimistic
keeping it real
even though you didn't make it
I believe in you still
and no words could explain the way I feel
I couldn't save a life
I fight to keep the pain concealed
just disgust and injustice
I'm kinda glad you wasn't here
and be born into lust
this place where people aren't sincere
understand I was another soul trying to change
if it wasn't for you
I wouldn't have been as motivated
a spark in my eye
apologizing through and through
now set off in this world
and understand that women rule
and know that every dream has a chance of becoming true
just believe in yourself
it correlates with what you do
just be sure to be different
and that you'd broaden out your view
have the heart of a lion
but follow by your mind's eye
cause' you're bound to get hurt
as sure as time passes by
understand that the best things in life are free
and you can only be the change that you'd like to see
